Savannah has always been a big fan of bath time. We have a little routine every night and around 7:30 we do bath, then read books, and then we say family prayer and put her in bed. She seems to know exactly what happens... and bath time is always her favorite. As soon I turn on the water she pulls up on the side of the tub and reaches her little leg over trying to get inside. Her favorite game right now is to throw all her toys outside of the tub while laughing as I throw them back in.

Such a good little brusher already! ;)

I love this one below... I just love when she pierces her little lips together and looks at me like that!

Savannah is growing up too fast. I can't believe she is almost ONE!

Valentines Fun

February is a fun month. Not only is it Valentines day on the 14th but the 19th is Savannah's birthday.

I have had fun decorating for Valentines day. I didn't have any vday decorations so I have made a lot during the last week.

-I printed out some subway art from pinterest

-Made some felt hearts

-Bought wood candlesticks from Hobby Lobby, painted them, bought red candles, and tied ribbon around them

-Made a colorful bouquet of flowers I already had on hand

-Made wood blocks with Kristin and added vinyl

-Made LOVE frames

(QUESTION) I want to add links to show you were I found a lot of the tutorials for the crafts I did. Can someone tell me how to place a link on my page where you only have to click a word and it will take you to the website? Does that make sense?

Here is a quick tutorial on the Love frames.

What you need:

-4 wood frames

-scrapbooking paper

-modge podge

-paint

-exacto knife

-vinyl letter or stickers

1st I painted the sides and the back of the frames where the

scrap booking paper was not going to be

Then I modge podged the scrap booking paper onto the frames, let them dry,

and cut the excess with an exacto knife.

So fun... I am becoming obsessed with crafting! ;)

Twine Wreath

I had fun making a simple twine wreath to hang over my mirror. The best part was I only spent $3.47 on the entire project. I already had the twine on hand from a previous project. I bought the foam wreath from Joann's and used my 50% off coupon which made the wreath only $2.50. I then bought the flowers from Hobby Lobby for 97 cents each but ended up only using 1 instead of 3.

You need:

Foam wreath

Thick twine

Flowers

Hot glue gun

A new home for my earrings!

I have had my earrings in the same holder since high school and I was ready to have something new. Something where they didn't get tangled, and something that made it easy to see them all. I have seen lots of ideas on pinterest so I kind of combined a variety of ideas and made this one.

I used an old frame that I had, bought some chicken wire from Home depot, backed it with some scrap booking paper, and placed my earrings in the hooks. I hung it up by my bathroom and I am loving it. I am always a fan of something organized and in its place.

BTW I have like 7 feet of chicken wire because they apparently won't cut it into smaller pieces at Home Depot...so if anyone is interested in doing this project... please come take some chicken wire off my hands. ;)

Menu Board

I have been dying to make a menu board to record what we are having for dinner each night. I finally saw an idea on pinterest that I really liked and decided to give it a try. I love the way it turned out and it is so nice to have my meals planned out and organized. Stephen also doesn't have to come home and ask everyday, "Hey babe... what are we having for dinner?" ;)

I bought some chalkboard vinyl and cut them into 4 x 4 squares. I cut each day of the week out on the cricut and made a "Menu" sign. I bought the magnetic eraser from Hobby Lobby and modge podged paper on front and added a flower!

It was a fun project. I have been doing tons of crafts lately... I need to post more of the things I have done. I hope you like it!

-Learned how to sew

-Learned how to coupon shop (btw I have saved so much money...anyone wanna learn?)

Savannah's accomplishments:

-Found her vocal chords

-Learned how to sit up

-Started crawling

-Waves hi and bye

-Gives kisses

-Claps her hands

-Says "mama" and "dada"

-Discovered how to go up and down stairs

What a great year! I don't know how 2012 can top 2011... I guess we will just have to wait and see. ;)

Christmas 2011

We had such a fun Christmas this year! It was Savannah's first and although she didn't really know what was going on it was SO fun! She was more interested in the wrapping paper then all her new presents! ;) Usually we fly home to Georgia for Christmas but both mine and Stephen's parents moved here so it was nice not to travel and have everyone close by!

Savannah loves her Nana... she is a lucky girl to have two great sets of grandparents.

We always make gingerbread houses on Christmas Eve... it is such a fun tradition. One of the best parts is getting to munch on all that candy. I ate way to much sugar over the holidays.. yikes.

Christmas morning!

The new doll she got from Nana and Papa... she loves it!

This was a Christmas present for both Stephen and I. We have been wanting a nice blender and LOVE the Blendtec. I make a green smoothie every morning and Savannah will even drink it. It tastes delicious and is so healthy. I also make Savannah's baby food with the Blendtec which is much more healthy than buying it. Plus baby food is expensive... and most of it is just water. We have made milkshakes, salsa, soup... you name it... this blender can do anything. It also comes with a recipe book with tons of good ideas. We love it!

My Mom and Dad got me this wrapping paper station for my craft room. How fun is that? They know me so well!

Stephen surprised me with this amazing camera. I was in shock... I hadn't even asked for it but he knew how much I love photography and taking pictures. It is an amazing camera and I am learning so much about it!!

We had a great Christmas and were all very spoiled. Savannah has enough toys to last her a lifetime. Stephen got a tool set and a new suit. We had a lot of fun and I hope everyone else had a great Christmas.

My good friend Tiffany got married last Friday! She got married at the SLC temple and it was so pretty with all the lights. Although it was freezing cold it was a ton of fun and I am so happy for her. Here are a slew of pictures of all us girls. I love those girls... and it was SO fun spending the day with them. My mother-in-law watched Savannah for the whole day and it was the longest I have been without her...it was so weird. Anyways we had a lot of fun!

I threw Tiffany's bridal shower along with her sister at my house. I did a hot chocolate bar. Her colors were all different shades of blue so I tried to incorporate that. We had a lot of fun!

Congrats Tiffany and Crosby... I am so happy for you!

9 months old!

It feels like yesterday Savannah was just born and we brought her home with us from the hospital. She was so little and we could hardly believe she was ours...now she is SO big and is already 9 months old.

I love this age. She is such a smiley happy girl. She is crawling and cruises all around the house. She is very mischievous and I have had to do some major baby proofing because she seems to get into everything that she isn't supposed to. She has 6 teeth, she is a pro at nap time, she loves baby food...especially squash, carrots, and applesauce. She can say mama and she can do 2 signs... we are still working on more. She loves reading books and turning the pages. She is full of personality and we love watching her grow!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

I LOVE Christmas time... the lights, the snow, the sweaters, the hot chocolate, the bon fires, the decorations, and the cuddling. I love this time of year!

Stephen and I got a little anxious and put our decorations up a couple days before Thanksgiving... I know I know that is forbidden but we couldn't help it. We like to enjoy our Christmas tree as long as possible. I was worried that it would be a pain keeping Savannah away from pulling down all the ornaments but it hasn't been a problem at all due to our floor plan which is nice. Every time I take her to the tree she looks at it in awe and always wants to play with the glittery ornaments. They are plastic so I have given her a few to play with and she is in heaven! Christmas is even more fun now that we get to share it with Savannah!!!!

Fresh Mozzarella and Tomato Pizza (lowfat)

I am taking a cooking class on BYU Independent Study and I have had so much fun trying lots of new recipes. We were required to pick a dinner recipe from the Betty Crocker cookbook and I chose the Fresh Mozzarella and Tomato Pizza. I love fresh Mozzarella and it is only 90 calories per slice so I just had to try it out and see if it was good! It was SO delicious... I recommend it. Stephen said it tasted like Pizza in France which is his favorite so it deff was a success. The key is to use fresh mozzarella... not the kind that is already grated for you at the grocery store. Buy it fresh and grate it yourself... it makes the biggest difference!

At the bottom of this post will be the recipe for this delicious pizza!!!

Here are the ingredients:

Fresh basil leaves, salt, pepper, fresh mozzarella, 2 Roma tomatoes, and pizza sauce. (Sorry the pizza sauce was not pictured).

Ingredients for pizza dough: warm water, flour, sugar, active dry yeast, and salt.

I also made another recipe from the Betty Crocker book called Savory Cheese bread! YUM!

Here is the pizza right before I place it in the oven... just looking at this makes me want to go eat some leftovers. ;)

topped with mozzarella, tomatoes, basil leaves, salt, and pepper.

The finished product. Make sure you use extra virgin olive oil... I used regular olive oil and the pizza stuck to the pan like crazy. It was so hard to get it off.

Here is the recipe:

Fresh Mozzarella and Tomato Pizza (Lowfat)

Prep: 35 min Rise: 20 min Chill: 2 hr Bake 20 min 1 pizza, 8 slices

Italian style pizza dough (recipe below)

1/2 can pizza sauce

4 oz fresh mozzarella cheese, grated

2 roma tomatoes, thinly sliced

1/4 tsp salt

Fresh cracked pepper to taste

1/4 cup thin strips fresh basil leaves

1 T oregano leaves (I forgot to add this)

1 T small capers, if desired

1 T extra virgin olive oil

1. Make italian style pizza dough.

2. Move oven rack to lowest position. Heat oven to 425. Grease cookie sheet or 12 inch pizza pan with oil. Press dough into 12 inch circle on cookie sheet or pat in pizza pan, using floured fingers. Press dough from center to edge so edge is slightly thicker than center.

3. Pour pizza sauce on dough and smooth around with a spoon. Grate mozzarella cheese. Place cheese on dough within 1/2 inch of edge. Arrange tomatoes on cheese. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, 2 T of basil, the oregano and capers. Drizzle with oil.

4. Bake about 20 minutes or until crust is golden brown and cheese is melted. Sprinkle with remaining 2 T basil.

Italian style pizza dough

1 package regular or quick active dry yeast

1/2 cup warm water

1 1/2 to 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour

1 tsp extra virgin olive oil

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp sugar

In large bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Stir in half of the flour, the oil, salt and sugar. Stir in enough of the remaining flour to make dough easy to handle. Place dough on lightly floured surface. Knead about 10 min or until smooth and springy. Grease large bowl with shortening. Place dough in bowl, turning dough to grease all sides. Cover and let rise in warm place for 20 minutes. Gently push fist in dough to deflate. Cover and refrigerate for at least two hours but no longer than 48 hours. (If dough should double in size during refrigeration, gently push fist into dough to deflate.)

We had a great Thanksgiving. We spent it with the Jett family and it was DELICIOUS! We were all stuffed on all the yummy thanksgiving food we had... not to mention all those pies!!

Bow Holder

Yay... I finally finished the bow holder I have been sewing for the last month for Savannah. It was a lot of work because the vinyl always stuck to the presser foot and I wanted the bias tape on the edges to look nice and straight which isn't an easy task for a beginner sewer. I am glad it is finished and I love the way it turned out. Now instead of throwing all her bows in a little bucket I can see them all!

Now on to my next sewing projects which is making fabric covers for my bowls!

5K & Savannah

Stephen and I ran a charity run at his work and had a lot of fun. It was a 5k which is about 3.2 miles. We had so much fun doing it together and I was pretty proud of myself for being able to run the race without stopping at all to walk. It was quite the accomplishment for me because I am not the best runner! ;)

Friday night my little brother opened his mission call. He is going to the Fort Lauderdale, Florida mission. He will be speaking Spanish and is leaving December 21st. Ahhh we are SO excited for him. He will be such an amazing missionary and I am so proud of him! I LOVE YOU SPENCER!

My little Savannah is not so little anymore. She is growing up so fast it is crazy. Sometimes I just want to stop time so she can be this little forever.

We love reading books together and she has started picking up books and turning the pages herself. So cute.. melts my heart every time!

We bought this little Santa hat for Savannah and didn't think she would keep it on her head. We put it on her all the time and she just leaves it on her head and doesn't seem to mind one bit. I love it!

She is now pulling herself up on everything... her crib, the bath, the couches, our legs.. its so fun to see her figure new things out everyday!

I put shoes on Savannah for the first time to try and keep her socks on and she wasn't so sure about what to think of them. Eventually she would just kick them off her feet!

Savannah is such a happy baby! The minute she wakes up in the morning she has such a big smile on her face. (Don't get me wrong she does have her moments of crankiness too;).
Her new things is laughing where ever we go. When we are in line at the grocery store she laughs at the person behind us, she laughs at the cashier, she laughs when she sees other babies... haha people get a kick out of it.
She is a happy girl and we love her so much!

Today we had a sister-in-law day! We do it once a month and switch houses each time. This month it was at my house and we decided to eat lunch and go to the park. It was such a fun afternoon. I have some really great sister-in-laws as well as some of the cutest nieces and nephews! (We did miss Rachel, Christy, and Andrea though :(

This was the first time I put Savannah on a swing and she was LOVING it! I love her sweet smile. She was kicking her legs back and forth and loved watching her cousins run around and play. It was perfect weather and we all had a great time including the little kiddos.

Fall Fun!

I can't believe it is already October! This summer went by so fast... and this cold weather came out of no where. One week it was in the 80's and the next it was in the 40's. WOW!
I am excited for the Fall even though it is colder. I love the leaves changing, halloween time, costumes, hot chocolate, apple cider, and bon fires. I am just not a fan of snow... because once it comes it lasts FOREVER.

Here is a little update on the family:

Stephen: He is working at Pinnacle and doing great. He recently took his LSAT and we are crossing our fingers that he got a good enough score to get into BYU. If not, he can always retake it in December. He is the cutest Dad to Savannah and she LOVES when he comes home from work. When he walks in the door she hears his voice and looks all around for him. Once he turns the corner a big grin comes across her face and her little arms pump up and down until he comes to hold her. It seriously melts my heart... so cute!

Me: I am loving being a stay at home Mom. I am taking 12 credits on line to finish my degree and they are going really well. I am having fun crafting and sewing. I am working on a lot of projects right now and it has been a blast. Savannah sits right next to me and plays with all the sewing tools: measuring tape, bias tape, thread etc. Mostly I love spending time with my little Savannah and teaching her. Right now we are working on sign language.

Savannah: She is almost 8 months old!!! HOLY COW... my baby is getting so big. Time seriously has flown by and I can't believe it. She is such a happy baby. I seriously am so lucky to be her Mom. She loves being held, playing with her toys, rolling over, eating Cheerios, being thrown in the air by daddy, reading books, jumping on her jumper, and being snuggled. We love her SO much!

I have been doing a lot of crafts lately. It has been tons of fun. Here are some recent ones:

I bought some fabric from Hobby Lobby that was half off along with pink ribbon and made a little dress for Savannah. I didn't really know what I was doing and kinda guessed as I went but I think she looks pretty darn cute in it!

I made place mat purses for the little girls I teach. They are super easy and can be used for pretty much anything.

Kris and I made Fall wreaths for our front door. We bought wire wreaths from Hobby Lobby and bought most of the flowers and supplies from the Dollar store. It included black and orange tool, orange, white, and yellow flowers, green leaves, lime green ribbon, and black striped ribbon.

I bought the letters from Hobby Lobby and the yarn and twine from Walmart because it was cheaper. I ended up using the twine and took back the yarn.

All I did was wrap the letters with the twine and I loved the way it turned out.

Summer is over already?

This summer has come and gone so fast. We had a great summer but I am so excited for Fall. I am going to miss the hot summery days but I also love the chilly days fall brings. I love wearing winter boots, sipping hot chocolate, and cuddling up in a blanket!

Savannah is 7 months old now and is cuter than ever. I love this age! She has such a cute, sweet, spunky personality. She is staring to mimic sounds Stephen and I make. When we cough she coughs back... when we squeal she squeals back. It cracks me up!

Over memorial weekend we had our traditional family reunion in Idaho and it was a lot of fun. Sometimes vacations are difficult with a baby because their schedule gets thrown off but Savannah did so great... I was so relieved. The drive there and back was a piece of cake as well.

home from her mission so we were all able to

Slow down!

Savannah is growing up so fast... too fast! She is 6 1/2 months old now... where has the time gone? I still remember when I found out I was pregnant with her. I was so excited, nervous, and thrilled. Now she is here with us and she is already 6 months. HOLY COW!

She is rolling over, eating solids, sitting up, laughing, smiling, cooing, clicking her tongue, puts everything in her mouth she can get a hold of, loves attention, loves her jumper, loves being held, recognizes Mommy and Daddy, etc.

I love this age! I can tell Savannah is going to be such a sweet girl. She is also a little shy at times. She will smile and nuzzle her little head in your shoulder when someone is talking to her.

She weighs 17 pounds which is in the 65th percentile for weight and is 27 inches which is in the 95th percentile for height. Me and Stephen always get a good laugh about that one because neither of us are very tall. We think she is going to be tall and skinny like my Mom!

She is getting bigger everyday! It is so fun to watch her grow and hard to believe how fast it is going!
I need to cherish this baby as much as I can because before I know it she will be a toddler!!!

When I was young I would count down the days until my birthday... and the night before I would always be so excited for the next day. Since my birthday is towards the end of August I always felt like the month went by SO slow. This year I didn't even know what day of the week my birthday was on... and the month of August went by SO fast! haha Regardless I am now 22 and it feels weird. I just feel like yesterday I was 19 and getting married. Now Stephen is graduated, I have one more semester until I graduate, we live in Orem, and we have a baby. It's so fun, crazy, and exciting to think of... so much has happened in the last 2 1/2 years.

I had a great birthday!

That evening my family came over and we ate pizza, ate YUMMY cake, opened presents, and played Phase 10. It was a blast! I had a great birthday!!!! Thanks everyone for all the birthday wishes, texts, and fb messages! :)

On another note:

We gave Savannah her first banana to eat all on her own. It was so funny watching her. We were cracking up. She made a mess... seriously there was banana everywhere... even in between her toes. She was loving every minute of it though, it was so cute!

She is sucking every last bit off her fingers.

So So yummy!

My little jumper!

Savannah cracks me up when I put her in the jumper. She LOVES it! When your strapping her in she knows whats coming and her little legs just start kicking like crazy because she is so excited. Her personality is SO fun. She is such a sweet girl and she is such a happy girl. (As long as she has a full tummy ;). When she is in her jumper she opens her mouth real big and squeals at the top of her lungs. She loves when people watch her jump and she will give them quite a show... she can jump so high. Here is a lot of pictures with her big mouth grin! I love my little jumper!

Calling all Moms!

SO I need some advice. Savannah used to be such a good sleeper. She would go to bed at 8:00 and would wake up around 5:00 to eat and then would go back to sleep until 8:00 or 9:00. For the last two weeks she has been waking up every 2 hours and just wants to use me as a human pacifier and then goes right back to sleep. I know she isn't very hungry because she doesn't eat long at all. I just don't want to create bad habits of nursing to sleep. I need advice from all you lovely mother's out there. Is this normal that she is waking up so often now? Is it just a phase she is going through?

Today is Stephen and I's 2 year anniversary. It is so fun being married to Stephen. He is the most thoughtful, caring, sensitive, and giving man. I feel so blessed everyday to have such a wonderful husband and such a sweet father to Savannah. I could go on and on about how much I love him but I will spare you all the sappy love talk... I am sure you will all appreciate it!

So this year I told Stephen that we shouldn't spend anything on our anniversary gifts we should just do something creative... like write a sweet letter or something. He agreed and thought that was a good idea. So here was my cheesy/funny letter to him!

It says:

I know I know... cheesy right but I thought we were doing something cheesy like this and inexpensive for our anniversary gift.
Well apparently Stephen had something else in mind and got me THIS sewing/embroidery machine. I was SO shocked... I wasn't expecting it at all. I had mentioned how it would be so fun to have a sewing machine one day... but I did not think it would be this day and I surely did not think it would be this nice. Stephen spoils me... he is so sweet to me. I can not WAIT to finally sew some cute dresses for Sav, make some fun summer skirts for me, hem up Stephen's jeans that are too long and much more!

Summer Fun!

WE have had such a fun summer and I can't believe there is only one month left!! This summer is flying by. Although we haven't gone on any vacations or traveled anywhere we are loving all the little things we are doing with our little family!

Savannah loves her Uncle Spencer! She is fascinated by that

good looking face as you can see in this picture.

Something she is not so fascinated by is green beans.

This was the face she would give us after each bite.

She is saying, "Seriously mom? Out of all the great foods

out there you feed me this?"

She sure does love going on walks with Mom though.

Mom enjoys them just as much! It is nice to get out of the house and

breath in some fresh/dry/hot Utah air.

This is the smile I wake up to everyday.

Doesn't she look so mischievous... haha I love it!

Although she isn't a big fan of green beans she

LOVED rice cereal. I couldn't feed it to her

fast enough!

Can't forget to satisfy my sweet tooth every now and again.

I don't feel to guilty about eating these because I am eating a fruit

covered in chocolate... not just plain chocolate. ;)

Whelp... there ya have it. That is our summer. Nothing to exciting but it has been nothing but fun! Stephen and I love our little girl and our lives just revolve around her!

We had a great 4th of July! Full of swimming, relaxing, barbecues, friends and fireworks.

Monday morning we went to Seven Peaks. Sav loves the water and it is so cute to watch her splash and look all around exploring the world around her.

Daddy was sound asleep and Savannah was content just laying next to him and playing with her fingers!

I love my little girl. She is starting to pull her bow off. I am SO sad... I love putting bows and flowers on her but I am not sure if she will let me do it much longer. haha

I wasn't sure if Savannah would like the fireworks but she was so cute. She watched them intently and I am sure she loved all the colors. The only one she didn't like was the last one... the grand finale... it was loud and even scared me!

Dear Savannah,

I can't believe you are already 4 months old. You are growing up so fast and you have quite the personality. You smile a lot, you love to be held, and you are very active with those little legs of yours. I feel so blessed that Heavenly Father chose me to be your mom. I love holding you, rocking you, soothing you, making you smile, giving you kisses, feeding you, cuddling with you, making you laugh, calming you down, and giving you baths. You bring me and your Dad so much joy... we can't imagine life without you. We love you Savi!

Happy Father's Day!

We had a lot of fun on Father's Day! Stephen and Savannah had been sick all week but luckily they were feeling better on Sunday. It sure was hard balancing taking care of both of them. Savannah wanted to be held and cuddled all day... and hey I was not complaining I love cuddling with her. Poor Stephen had a fever of 103 and was miserable. It was SO sad. I also had to make sure to keep them as far apart from each other as I could because I didn't want them to get worse. I am so glad they were feeling better on Sunday!

I wanted to make Stephen's 1st Father's day special. I tried to give him something manly so I got him lots of tools for his new grill...he loved them! We also had his favorite breakfast which is german pancakes and a big, yummy dinner with family!

My good friend Veronica and I also made these pots and filled them with candy, sewed the mini tie, and hot glued it to the pot.

Our good friends made Savannah the cutest onesies when she was born and she is starting to fit in them now. Here is one of them.

I love her little bum poking up in the air. This is how she rolls over when she is on her tummy...she sticks her bum up in the arm and rolls to her back. It is so cute!

Dresser Makeover!

I had so much fun working on this dresser for Savannah's room.

This is the dresser I had in my room growing up and I only spent $12.00 on supplies to fix it up! :)

I got this idea from homemadebyjill.blogspot.com and copied and pasted her step by step instructions below:

Here are the supplies you will need:

Measuring tape

Screw driver

Paint brush

Mod Podge (matte-finish)

Decorative paper

Exact-o knife

1. After cleaning your piece of furniture well, remove the old hardware.

2. Measure your drawer fronts

3. Measure and cut your decorative paper to size. I used scrap book paper that I found at Hobby Lobby. It was on sale the day I bought it (bonus!) A high-quality wrapping paper with a nice print would also work well. I had to piece two papers together on each drawer.

4. Using a paint brush, apply a layer of Mod Podge to your drawer fronts. Lay the decorative paper down on the drawer front and smooth out any bubbles. Let it dry completely.

5. Trim any excess paper that may overlap the drawer front using an exact-o knife.

6. Apply two additional coats of Mod Podge to the drawer fronts to seal (let each coat dry completely before re-applying). Be careful of your brush-strokes, since they will show. Avoid leaving any drips.

8. After they are dry attach your new hardware. Put the drawers back in the dresser.

9. Enjoy your new dresser!

Splish Splash!

Savannah LOVES bath time! She splashes and smiles like crazy when

we put her in her little tub!

Look closely and you will see the big waves of the water from her kicking! Don't forget to look at that big snowman belly... love it!

Fabric Frames

I needed a new decoration in our bathroom but I didn't want to spend very much money so I decided to be a little crafty. Here is a little tutorial on what I did!

I bought the frames below from D.I for no more than a dollar.

I took the glass out and spray painted them a dark brown because it coordinated with the colors in our room.

These are the fabrics I used.

I cut a square of fabric a little bigger than the frame and used my hot glue gun to secure the edges.

This is what the 3 frames looked like when I was done hot gluing the fabric on.

I made these simple 3D flowers with brown fabric.

I placed the frames on once they had time to dry and hung them above the toilet in our bathroom.

It was fun, easy, and CHEAP. Perfect craft to do while the baby is sleeping! ;)

I love when things are organized in my home. I always feel so much better when things are clean, organized, and easy to locate. Yesterday I decided to tackle my pantry... it was getting out of control.

1st: I bought clear boxes at Bed Bath and Beyond. They are actually shoe containers but they work perfect for organizing other items.

2nd. I cleared out my entire pantry and placed coordinating items into my clear boxes. For example: rice, noodles, popcorn, drink mixes, snacks, etc.

3rd: I put everything back into my pantry in an orderly fashion.

4th: I made vinyl labels with my Cricut so I knew exactly what was in each box.

5th: I took a sigh of relief and smiled! :)

The Skinny Cow

They were tempting to buy because they were only 100 calories per icecream sandwich and trust me they are delicious... I recommend them. I just continue to laugh at the name... Skinny Cow. Do I want to be a skinny cow? How about a skinny wife or a skinny mother... not a skinny cow. haha

Is there anything better than being a mother? I am so happy to be Savannah's mom... I feel so blessed. I look at her and I see so much happiness. She always keeps me smiling and laughing... even when I don't get any sleep the night before. ;) Nothing is quite better than being a mom and getting to spend all my time with my little Savannah Jane. I am so grateful for my sweet girl!

I am also thankful for the beautiful mom of my own. She is the most unselfish, loving, and generous mom I could ask for. I hope my children can look at me in days to come and be as thankful for me as I am for my own mother. She unconditionally loves me, she is my best friend, and she is a wonderful Nana to Savannah! I love you MOM!

Not only do I have a wonderful mom... I am also blessed with a wonderful mother-in-law. I feel so lucky to be a part of the Jett family and am so thankful for the mother she was/is to my husband. She has such a sweet, giving, and selfless attitude. I love you MOM Jett!

BYU Graduate!

Stephen graduated last week!!! Way to go babe... I am so happy, proud, and excited for you.
He has worked so hard these last 4 years at BYU and all those late nights studying have paid off. He even managed to keep a academic scholarship all 4 years of school. :) Now that is impressive.

As for me... I have one more semester until I graduate! I need lots of encouragement because it is hard trying to finish school while being a mom.

Stephen is leaving me in just a few weeks to work for this company called Point Protects. They have asked him to be the regional manager which is a fantastic opportunity but it means for the next 4-12 months he will be traveling to different cities to build teams. He will be home every other weekend to visit me and Savannah. It is going to be very hard... but it will be very beneficial if he is successful. I was just thinking about how much I am going to miss him and I came across our wedding video...

Time flies...

Life has been very busy to say the least. I have not been very good about updating my blog... but hey can ya blame me.
I am busy studying for finals, finishing projects, and spending time with Stephen and Savannah. I am so ready to be done with school so I can just be a MOM! I start my student teaching during finals week and will finish at the end of July. Crazy... I know. Luckily I have had so much help from my parents... I would not be able to finish school if they weren't here to help me with Savannah. I am so blessed!
Enough about me... let me tell you about Savannah.
Stephen and I can't get enough of her... we may be biased but we think she is the cutest baby ever!
This morning she woke up at 6 so I brought her in bed with me and started talking to her. This huge smile came across her face... it was the cutest thing I have ever seen! I literally tried for 15 more minutes to get her to smile like that. I probably looked ridiculous making funny noises and silly faces. Haha!
Savannah is such a sweet baby... she LOVES to cuddle. As long as she is in your arms she is a happy camper. And hey I am not complaining... I love snuggling with her.
She has big blue eyes like her daddy and big chubby cheeks like her mommy.
She likes to sleep with her legs curled up and her arms right by her face.
Sometimes she loves the binky and sometimes she hates it... especially if you give it to her when she is hungry.
She is so little... she is almost two weeks and is still wearing newborn clothes.
Baths are her favorite time of day... something about that water will calm her down if she is ever fussy.
She loves to stare and I love to stare back.
It is so fun watching her grow... we can't believe she is almost 2 months old. It goes by fast... I got to hold on to this newborn stage as long as possible. :)

Hi Everyone! This is our sweet Savannah Jane. She loves to eat. She has chubby cheeks and her mommas lips. She is a serious cuddle bug. She loves when Mommy and Daddy talk to her. Savannah has become a professional breast feeder... she appreciates good food like her parents. She also loves to look around. She stares at me a lot, and i stare back. I like to think that she's very happy that i'm her mom, because i know i'm extremely happy she's my daughter. She is going to be a daddy's girl... Stephen can't get enough of her. We LOVE our sweet girl!

Savannah is here!

Savannah Jane arrived 3 weeks early! She was born on February 19th instead of March 10th. The doctor estimates she was really only a week early because when I had my ultrasound she measured to be almost two weeks bigger. We are so happy she is here with us. Stephen and I cannot get enough of her and can hardly believe she is ours. I never knew you could have so much love for someone so small. Savannah is 7 pounds 2 oz. and 19 1/2 inches long. We love her so much and are so glad she is apart of our family!

LABOR:

I woke up early Saturday morning around 3:00 AM with contractions 5 minutes apart. I was feeling really nauseous and wasn't sure if this was my cue to go to the hospital. I woke Stephen up and we figured we better go to the hospital just to be safe. Once we got there the nurse checked me and was extremely surprised. I was 6 cm dilated and 80 % effaced. She couldn't believe I wasn't in extreme pain. My contractions were getting stronger but they were deff bearable. They emitted me to the hospital, called my doctor, and said your baby will probably be here around dinner time. Stephen and I were so excited but also so nervous. We weren't expecting her to come this early... good thing we were prepared. Around 2:00 my doctor came and broke my water. Once my water was broken, I began to have contractions every minute and they were INTENSE. I was ready for an epidural at this point. The epidural wasn't too bad... besides for the fact the guy messed up and had to do the shot twice... fantastic! Although, feeling no more pain after that was worth it. Time kept passing and around 6:00 the nurses wanted me to begin pushing. They said it usually takes 1 or 2 hours of pushing before the baby gets here. I gave one good push and her head started coming out. My mom told me that when they say push you should push as if your life depends on it... and that is exactly what I did. haha The nurses made me stop and called the doctor right away. Once my doctor got there I pushed for 14 minutes and Savannah was here. They set her on my stomach and I felt so many emotions. It was as if Heavenly Father wrapped his arms around Stephen and placed Savannah in my lap. It was the most amazing experience I have ever had and I am so grateful to be a mom!

Blogging Break!

I am going to have to take a blogging break for the next month or so. I have so much to do this next month with school and teaching so I need to get rid of any distractions. I am teaching 5th grade at Riverview Elementary along with school, midterms, papers, assignments, and getting ready for Savannah to arrive. I will probably be back to the blogging world after Savannah is born and I have a little break from school.

So I have been having trouble sleeping lately. I am just at that stage in pregnancy were I can't get comfortable and I get up constantly to go to the bathroom. I usually just lay there in bed hoping to eventually fall back to sleep but early early this morning around 5:00 I decided to get some things done instead of waist my time trying to fall back to sleep.

First I made this little baby skirt for Savannah...

Second I hot glued some flowers together and added clips on the back. (Like she doesn't have enough bows already)...

Then I had some fun with the cricut and put this quote above Savannah's door...

Then I admired this cute green and white polka dot rug my mom got us to put in her room...

Then I made a quote for our bedroom with the cricut...

All while Stephen was sound asleep...and still is ;)

It feels good to get some things done instead of laying in bed wide awake bored out of my mind! I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend and Happy Sunday to you!

We finally finished Savannah's room! It was so fun putting it all together and getting everything ready. My mom and I had fun shopping for the bedding and decorations. Only 6 more weeks until she is here! We can't wait to meet her! :)

I am not a complainer... I'm really not... but can I just write a couple of my feelings down right now and maybe I will feel a little better.

1. I am not a very emotional person... I don't cry very often and if I do no one will usually ever see it. Now I feel like the smallest things will make me cry! I don't know what these pregnancy hormones are doing but I don't think I like it.

2. I felt so confident about this semester and knew I could finish even though my baby is due in the middle of my practicum. Now that school has started and all the work is piling on I feel so overwhelmed and I am scared of how stressful and challenging this semester will be. I hate the thought of having my baby and having to go right back to school as soon as possible. I think it is going to tear me apart being away everyday right after she is born. Finishing my education is SO important to me but so is being a mom...

3. My body aches and I am not sleeping well... some nights I am so uncomfortable I feel like I hardly slept because I was tossing and turning all night. Not to mention that I get up at least 5 times to pee. My lower back and right hip must be out of adjustment... when I sit to long I can barely walk normal when I stand up.

4. Now to top it all off... I think I am getting sick which is not a good way to start the semester off. My head is pounding and every inch of my body aches. I can't take any medicine besides Tylenol because I am pregnant but Tylenol isn't doing a thing.

Thank you for letting me complain for a minute. I really don't normally do that. I think I just needed to write that down and get it out of the way. I shouldn't be complaining though because I have so many things to be grateful for such as:

1. I have a wonderful, loving, generous, and thoughtful husband who works so hard everyday to support our family.

2. I live in a beautiful home, in a great neighborhood, with the best ward.

3. I have a little baby girl growing inside of me who I have so much love for and can't wait until I can finally hold her!

4. My Parents moved out to Utah which made the start of 2011 a GREAT year.

5. I have amazing teachers who are working with me so that I can finish school and graduate as soon as possible with a baby.

6. I have the gospel and the Savior to rely on when I am not feeling 100% which brings me so much comfort.

Thank you for letting me vent a little bit. Like I said I am not one to complain especially when there are so many people going through so many more challenges than I am right now. Mine are just minor but sometimes it just feels good to write them down.

One last Christmas in Georgia!

Stephen and I flew to Georgia for one last Christmas! Both of our parents have moved to Utah which we are thrilled about. It is so fun to have family so close. We had a wonderful Christmas Break relaxing and not having to worry about school. It was so fun to be with my family and be in Georgia one last time.

While we were out there I decided to cut my bangs. I wanted some kind of change but I wasn't brave enough to cut my hair short so I decided I would do something a little less drastic and cut my bangs. Bangs grow back fast so if I didn't like them they would be long again in a couple weeks! :)

Here is my Dad and two of my brothers making breakfast one morning. How I enjoyed that home cooking... I have deff missed that!

Here is my wonderful Mom before we went out for a girls day to shop. One thing I have loved about being the only girl is going out shopping and spending all day together. We always have so much fun and I love the relationship we have. I have an amazing mother!

You can't go a Christmas without making gingerbread houses from scratch. We tend to get quite creative and I love seeing what everyone comes up with.

I forgot to put a picture of me and Stephen's finished gingerbread house... I guess you will just have to imagine it.

Elysse and I have been best friends/ best cousins since we were little! We grew up together in Georgia and always had so much fun! I love getting to spend time with her.

Christmas Day it snowed. We couldn't believe it. It never snows in Georgia and it was so fun to have a white Christmas!

Stephen and I drove to Peachtree city with Ben and Christy to visit their grandparents. It was so much fun to spend time with them. We even got to go on a little golf cart ride.

We love seeing and spending time with Ben, Christy, Emma, and Matthew!

Kelly and I have always been really close friends growing up. She is pregnant with her first baby as well. YAY!

Christmas was so much fun in Georgia and it was so nice having a break from school! I am even more excited for this New Year now that my parents have moved out to Utah... it is so nice to have them close by.

Christmas time isn't complete without gingerbread house making. Even when you eat half the candy while you are making it. ;) We had everyone over for broccoli and cheese soup before we began the gingerbread house making competition! :)

Happy Birthday STEPHEN!

Stephens birthday was last Thursday and he turned 25!! We had such a fun day! I woke up early to make his favorite breakfast before he headed off to school. We had bacon, eggs, toast, and Orange Juice. Then he opened his birthday presents and was off to school. That night we celebrated with his family at Carrabas for dinner and then everyone came to our place for cake and ice-cream. Happy Birthday babe... I LOVE YOU!

Right when he woke up... getting reading to open presents and eat breakfast.

On Friday I made Christmas treats for friends, family, and neighbors. I put them in little baggies with red, green, and gold ribbon. They were super easy and super yummy! ;)

All you need is:
Bite size waffle-shaped pretzels
Hershey's Kiss or Hershey's Hug
M&M candy

*Heat the oven to 170F. Set a number of bite-size, waffle-shaped pretzels (one for each treat) in a single layer on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper, then top each pretzel with an unwrapped Hershey's Kiss or Hershey's Hug.

*Bake for 4 to 6 minutes (the white chocolate will melt more quickly), until the chocolates feel soft when touched with a wooden spoon. Remove the cookie sheet from the oven and quickly press an M&M's candy into the center of each Kiss.

*Allow the treats to cool for a few minutes, then place them in the refrigerator to set, about 10 minutes. Place handfuls of the candies in clear plastic bags and tie on colorful ribbons.

Clutter Free

I LOVE organization. This is deff a quality I got from my Mom. I just feel so much better when my home is organized and free of clutter. I wish I would have taken a picture of the garage before we organized it and built shelves. It was a complete disaster because we just threw everything in the garage when we were remodeling and things just continued to pile up. One Saturday we took a huge load of stuff to the dump, a load to DI, and then organized the stuff we kept. Stephen built these amazing shelves with my Dad's help and we LOVE them. Eventually we will build more when we run out of space. Now we can park in the garage and enjoy an organized, clutter free garage! :)

I am now 27 weeks. I can't believe I only have 13 weeks left out of 40. It has gone by so fast. Probably because I have been SO busy with school and haven't been able to slow down. Our little girl is quite active. Stephen and I can't figure out if she is going to be a little dancer or a little athlete. Either way she kicks, jumps, and moves around in my stomach constantly. I remember when I first started feeling little movements but wasn't sure if it was really her or if my stomach was just growling. Well now there is no question in my mind... those kicks are clear as day. I love it so much.

Last weekend we bought the crib and changing table from Babies r Us... we got a good deal on them from the black Friday sales. We can't wait until the crib finally gets here so we can start working on her room. I love decorating and already have a whole plan mapped out in my head of how I want it to look. I can't wait!

I have a question for anyone who has been pregnant before! I already started having those fake contraction things... I think? Randomly my stomach will tighten up for 10 seconds or so throughout the day. Is that normal at 7 months? It isn't painful it just feels a little weird and I didn't know they came that early.

Anyways, I hope everyone had a happy Monday!

Barnett Elementary School

Monday was my last day teaching at Barnett Elementary! It was such a fun, exciting, and enjoyable experience. I loved all those first graders and was so sad to say goodbye. I love how sweet and innocent they are... and they have such a strong desire to learn. They each have their own unique personalities and I was so glad I was able to get to know each one of them. I got a little teary eyed when they read me their notes and gave me lots of hugs before I left. I am going to miss them!

Last weekend was such a fun weekend! My brothers and Tiffany (Trav's GF) came in town! I love those weekends when they come down to visit. Although, it was sad because we were missing Chase but we got Spencer all the way from Georgia. We even got Spencer on his birthday... so of course we celebrated all day long!

My youngest brother Spencer is now 18! Holy cow! We had his favorite cake and ice-cream with sparkler candles. You can't tell that the candles are sparklers in this picture... but trust me they were pretty cool! Then we opened presents and had such a fun day all together!

We went bowling to Fat Cats Saturday night. I don't mean to brag or anything but I WON! This is a big deal for me because I never win at bowling. I'm not sure how I got so lucky that night but I got 4 strikes and 3 of those strikes were in a row. Leaving me with a grand total of 150! First time breaking 100 and first time beating everyone including my brothers... it felt so good. :)

Once I found out I was having a girl I knew I would be having fun finding clothes and accessories for her. I love all the fun, cute bows and flowers you can buy but they are SO over priced. So I decided to make them on my own. With a couple mess ups I finally figured out how and was quite pleased with the finished product. It was much cheaper and it was so much fun learning how to make the bows. I went to Hobby Lobby and bought the ribbon because it was 50% off! :) The spools have 3 yards of ribbon... the thin ribbon was $1 and the thicker ribbon was $2! What a great deal!

That means Merry Christmas in French. I know what you are thinking... Thanksgiving hasn't even passed and you are already saying Merry Christmas.

Stephen and I got a little excited for Christmas this year as you can see. This weekend we listened to Christmas music, drank hot chocolate, and decorated our first Christmas tree. It was so fun! Only one more month and we will be in GA with my family for Christmas. I love everything about the Christmas season!

I have started teaching 1st grade at Barnett Elementary!

A few things I have learned:
1. I love kids (this I already knew)
2. 1st graders LOVE the teacher and LOVE school.
3. I love teaching.
4. Being a teacher is a lot of work and quite exhausting.
5. Preparing lesson plans every night and memorizing them for the next day = no time to relax and no time with Stephen :(
6. I have a Hinckley in my class and a Monson in the class next door.
7. Little 1st grade girls want to be the teacher and little 1st grade boys want to marry the teacher. haha I have a couple cute stories that I will share on another post.
8. Being a teacher has helped me realize why we are told to be like little children in the scriptures. They are so full of love, so forgiving, so genuine, so trustworthy, and so happy.

A cute story...
The first day I started teaching a little boy came up to me named Keyton and tapped me on my bum. (It was all he could reach) Our conversation went a little something like this...
Keyton: "Mrs. Jett... How come your belly pokes out?"
Me: (I bent down so we were at eye level) "O, that's because I have a baby in my belly."
Keyton: (His eyes got really big and concerned) he then said, "You ate a baby?"

I continue to laugh about this story. He was so concerned that I "ate a baby." haha I love my little first graders and I will miss them when the practicum ends.

In the mean time I MISS DALLAS! I usually watch him during the week but ever since I started the practicum I can't for this entire month since I teach full time. It is killer... I miss his fun personality and sweet smile!

We have had quite the fun Halloween weekend. Full of parties, candy and costumes. We love Halloween time. My favorite part this year was seeing all the little kids dressed up in so many cute costumes.
Wednesday: Stephen and I went to a Halloween party and dressed up as salt and pepper.
Friday: We went to our wards trunk or treat and saw so many cute kids all dressed up. Stephen was dressed up as Brett Favre (Gray hair, broken ankle and all). I dressed up as his biggest fan. I decided to let Stephen choose what we were this year for Halloween since last year I convinced him to dress up in pajama onesies with me. haha
Saturday: We had a get together at our place full of fun games and finger foods. Plus I got to see the Draper family which made it an even better Halloween!

We went to Cornbelly's by Thanksgiving Point last night to celebrate John (Stephen's brothers) birthday. Stephen has a big family and we are constantly celebrating someones birthday! It is so fun to all get together. Cornbelly's had so many fun things to do... hay rides, corn mazes, haunted corn mazes, bull rides, shooting pumpkins, etc. We had a blast!

This was so entertaining watching Stephen ride the bull. haha He was determined to stay on as LONG as possible!

Today we found out that we are having a little girl and we are so excited! We can't stop smiling and talking about it! The ultrasound was so neat and when she told us we were having a girl we couldn't believe it. I loved watching her move all around in my belly and we got tons of fun pictures of her arms, feet, stomach, toes, sucking thumb, and stretching her body. It was so neat... I loved every minute of it.

I have been in quite a tough situation these last couple months trying to figure out how I was going to finish school since I am having a baby in March. After this semester, I have two more semesters left until I graduate. My plan was to go to school next semester which begins in January... have my baby in the middle of the semester... come back to school and finish the next month so I would have that semester out of the way. Then all I would have left was my student teaching. My plans changed when I went to talk with the El Ed counselors. For Elementary Education majors, we have two semesters before our student teaching where we teach in the schools for one month. It is called our practicum. This semester my practicum is the entire month of November and next semester my practicum is the entire month of March. The practicum is very intense and they require you to be teaching in the classroom everyday. If you miss more than one day you cannot pass. Since baby Jett is due in March my plan to go to school Winter semester wasn't going to work unless I had the baby and came back to school the next day. That would be extremely hard for many different reasons. Not only being in pain but leaving my baby the day after he or she is born. My counselor suggested I defer Winter semester and apply for fast track. If I applied for fast track I would go to school during the summer and spring right after the baby was born. Then I would do my student teaching in the fall. When she told me this I couldn't imagine doing this. The baby would only be one month old and I would be gone Monday through Friday from 8 am to 4 pm. Stephen would have to work full time to save up money to prepare to start Law school in the fall. That means I would have to hire some random person to watch our baby full time. I just don't think I could do this and be happy. I would be gone all day... and then when I am back from school I would have to make lesson plans and prepare for the next day of teaching. I felt so torn... should I finish my degree or be a mom? Being a mom has always been my number one priority but if I don't get my El Ed degree in the next year I will have to re-apply to the program because they are changing it. I didn't know what to do... I felt so frustrated and I hated the thought of being away from home for the first 8 months of my child's life. If only I could go to school winter semester... then all I would have left after the baby was born was my student teaching.

Soooo... here is my good news. I was determined on making my plan work. I was assigned to teach in the Nebo school district so I went to the lady over the entire school and told her my predicament. I asked if there was anything I could do to go to school next semester instead of defer. I told her I would make up everyday I missed from having the baby and I would turn in all my assignments on the correct due date. She was a little hesitant to break the rules but she said she would make it work for me. I am going to make up days in the practicum before I even miss them... if that makes sense. I will start teaching in the schools before everyone else so once I have the baby I will have a week or two before I have to go back to school. I am so grateful that she was willing to work with me. I feel like it is such a blessing! I have gotten this far in my education and I can't stop now. Once I have the baby I will just have my student teaching and then I will be DONE! The thought of that sounds so good. Then I can be a stay at home Mom... like I have always wanted. :)

At 17 weeks my belly is indeed beginning to show. For a while I didn't feel pregnant at all because I was never really sick and I wasn't showing. Now that I can see changes it feels even more real. I get nervous thinking, "O no, what if my belly never goes back to normal again after I have the baby?" I just pray I got my Mama's genes and realize it is just part of being pregnant and the little kiddos are worth it! ;)

Here I am at 17 weeks. This bump literally happened over night. It was crazy!

Our First Home!

Stephen and I bought our first home in Orem, Utah about 3 months ago and absolutely love it. It is in the perfect location and we have wonderful neighbors and the best ward! We worked hard on remodeling because it deff needed a lot of work. We installed new carpet, wood floors, and tile in the bathrooms. We painted every single wall and put up new baseboard. Although the process wasn't too much fun it was worth it and we love the outcome. My personal favorite was decorating!

Birthday FUN!

Tuesday was my 21st birthday and it was such a fun day!! Stephen spoils me like crazy on my birthday. He woke me up early Tuesday morning as he was leaving for work and told me to come downstairs for a minute because he had a surprise for me. I was half asleep but gladly followed him down the stairs. He was covering my eyes and once I opened them this is what I saw! I was sooo excited. I have wanted a mountain bike for so long and he also got a little stroller that hooks on the back wheel so once we have our baby we can go on lots of bike rides.

Then I saw the table covered with my favorite candies and two movies I love. Including the drapes my mom made for my kitchen that are adorable.

I also got a cricut expression! I have wanted one of these for so long and he found one for a great deal. It cuts all kinds of fun things... vinyl, designs, hair flowers, and scrapbook stuff.

This was the first project I did with the Cricut. I made labels for food with vinyl lettering. It is so fun to use!

Kristin did my nails for my birthday! They are so much fun to have and I love them. Instead of just white tips she did pink glitter tips. CUTE huh!

I spent some of my birthday with Dallas. He is so much fun and has quite the cute, funny, and outgoing personality! I love spending my days with him.

Stephen took me to Carrabas that night for dinner which was so delicious. It was such a fun day. Thanks for all the calls, texts, and birthday wishes from everyone! :)

One exciting/awful morning!

My morning started out like any other... woke up at 8:30, showered, ate breakfast, took the dishes out of the dishwasher, and folded some laundry before I headed to work. I had some extra time on my hands so I figured I would run to Roberts to get some Envelopes for a friends baby shower. If I went between 9:00-10:00 am I could get them for 50% off. So off to Roberts I went! As I pulled up to Roberts there was NO parking... that place was completely packed! I guess everyone was taking the opportunity to get 50% off like I was. Finally, I found a parking spot in the Chucky Cheese parking lot and headed for Roberts. I went in feeling a little overwhelmed with all the people there but couldn't resist looking at the cricut cartridges. They were half off and that is a dang good deal. I found two cartridges that I loved and got the envelopes that I needed and stood in line. I got to the line at 9:40, which means I still had 20 minutes before the sale ended. I knew I would make it, even though the line was almost near the back of the store. 15 minutes pass and I am STILL in line... I only have 5 more minutes to buy this before the 50% off ends. There were 2 people in front of me so I was feeling pretty confident until.... I started getting really hott.... and claustrophobic... and then I started getting worried... because I knew that if I left the line I would loose out on the deal but at this point I just didn't know if I could make it... something was deff wrong. A couple seconds went by as I was fanning my face with my hand and then I felt it. "Crap, I am about to throw up." (The joys of being pregnant). I was forced to leave the line and I was headed straight for the bathroom. I wasn't sure where it was, but I figured it was somewhere in the back of the store. I got half way there and by that time I started sweating profusely and had a hard time walking. I couldn't believe this was happening... in Roberts of all places! I finally make it to the bathroom and my worst nightmare comes true... IT IS A ONE PERSON BATHROOM AND IT IS LOCKED! I had no idea what to do... by this point I was down on all fours panicking because I knew this was not going to be good. A lady saw me and said, "Honey, is everything alright? Can I help you?" I couldn't even look at her.. all I said was, "I need a trashcan... I am about to throw up!" Before I knew it... i started throwing up... all over the floor in Roberts... and I didn't even care because I had no other choice. Then the embarrassment came as people gathered around trying to figure out what was going on. I felt sooo bad! The worker came to the back and I just kept apologizing... and she was so nice and told me not to worry about a thing and that they will take care of it. The saddest part was I didn't get my 50% off those amazing cricut cartridges when I was so close to being the next in line. What a bummer...
I have been pretty lucky because I haven't been very sick while being pregnant... but then there a few moments like that that just seem to top it all off. ;) I left that store wanting to ball my eyes out, I was so embarrassed. I called my Mom and told her what happened and like always she makes everything better. We just laughed together... after all laughter is the best medicine.

As many of you know, Stephen and I are expecting our first baby on March 10th (my dads birthday). Although it came as a bit of a surprise, we couldn't be happier and are so excited for this next step in our lives. I am almost 3 months along and doing fabulous. I haven't been very sick at all which has been such a blessing. Occasionally, I will get a little nauseous here and there but it is very manageable and easily fixed with a few crackers. :)
Yesterday Stephen and I went to the doctor for our first OB appointment. We were so excited to hear the heartbeat but had no idea we would actually be able to see the baby with an ultrasound. The doctor put that jelly stuff on my stomach and in a few seconds we saw our little baby (which is the size of a grape right now) jumping around everywhere in my belly. It was so amazing to see and at that point it became so real to me. It was such a neat feeling and I felt so much love inside for this little child. I have always known that pregnancy is a wonderful thing but you can never really understand until it is happening to you. We can't wait for our baby to join our family in 6 months!

One Year Anniversary!

On Saturday July 31st Stephen and I had our one year anniversary! It is so crazy to think that we have been married for an entire year. It has flown by and I feel like we have been blessed in so many ways this last year. We are going into our senior years at BYU, we bought a home in Orem, Utah, and I am pregnant with our first child. We couldn't be happier and are so excited about what is ahead of us. Stephen surprised me Friday night (the day before our anniversary) and took me to Salt Lake to eat a delicious dinner...just when I thought we were heading back to Provo he pulls up to Anniversary Inn to stay for the night! We stayed in the "Carriage House" and it was perfect and such a cute room. We had so much fun together and enjoyed spending Saturday doing all kinds of fun things in Salt Lake.

It was such a fun one year anniversary! It was hard to imagine loving Stephen more than I did the day I married him in the temple, but that love never seems to stop growing!

Melissa's Wedding

Melissa got married in the St. George Temple and it was so fun to go see her and all the cousins. Me, Elysse, and my mom drove to St George Thursday night and stayed until Friday night. The wedding was beautiful and Melissa and Riley looked so happy! Here are some pictures of the fun and hot day in St. George.

Sorry it has been so long since I have updated our blog. Who knows if anyone checks my blog on a regular basis but I will work on getting back on my normal schedule of updating every week or so. We have been in the process of moving, remodeling, and getting settled in our home. So many fun and exciting things have gone on this last month or so in me and Stephens life!

1. We bought a home and are pretty much done re-doing and unpacking everything. We replaced all the carpet, changed the vinyl to wood, put up new baseboard, and painted every single wall in the entire home. To say the least I don't think I will ever pick up a paint brush again ;) Although we have had some setbacks the outcome looks fantastic!

2. I started my summer semester of classes. I am taking 7 credits which is three classes. Statistics, Marriage and Family, and Health361. I didn't think it would be to difficult but boy was I wrong. Summer semester is half as long as Winter or Fall semester so you get a huge load of information everyday in your classes because they are cramming 4 moths of info in only 2 months. WOW!

3. I wanted to brag about Stephen for a second. Stephen was the top seller at Pinnacle last month with 81 installs in 4 weeks. He got a great bonus and won a 55 inch big screen TV to add to our family room! He also won an IPAD this month because of all his installs. I am one lucky girl to have such a hard working husband!

4. Stephen and I love our new ward and our new calling. We have the most friendly, kind, and wonderful neighbors who have helped us so much and made us feel so welcome into the neighborhood and ward.

5. My parents are coming Thursday the 15th and staying until the 25th. I am so excited to see my Mom and Dad and spend time with them.

6. Stephen and I had a fun and EXCITING fourth of July! I will post why it was so exciting later.

6. I can't wait to put pictures of the house up but I am waiting for the finishing touches! I promise they will be up by Thursday! On facebook and on our blog!

I have so many pictures to add of different things Stephen and I have been up to. I will have to add them later because I am on a school computer and they are all uploaded on my laptop.

Watching the Harris kids!

Stephen and I headed to Salt Lake this weekend to watch the Harris kids! We had so much fun spending the weekend with them and getting to know them better. I couldn't believe how grown up they are. The last time I saw Ashley she was only 4 years old. Friday night we had popcorn and watched The Princess and the Frog. Saturday I went to a breakfast at church with Ashley and Megan. Saturday afternoon we went to the Kangaroo Zoo and ordered Pizza. Sunday we relaxed, went to church and played outside.

Weekend Getaway!

So our favorite friends Philip and Theresa invited us for a little weekend getaway in Midway, Utah. Philips stake president in California has this huge home that he built in Utah to stay at when they visit. In the mean time, they rent it out to friends. The house was absolutely beautiful and we had so much fun staying there for a short weekend. We all had a blast eating out, shopping at cute boutiques, and eating way too many sweets.:)

We had a great weekend and we loved Midway. Thanks Theresa and Philip for inviting us! :)

Dallas!

I have the best job ever!
On Tuesdays and Thursdays I watch the cutest 10 month old boy. I go to school on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and I always look forward to the days I spend with Dallas. He is so much fun and he is always so happy. No matter what, even if he is sick he always has a smile on his face. I started watching him when he was 3 months old and now he is almost 11 months old... it has been so fun to see him grow!!

How can you not love that smile

Cultural Diorama

For my Tell400 Class we were required to make a presentation of three artifacts that represent us culturally and ethnically. They could be objects we had in our home that represent our background, traditions and daily activities. I figured I would share mine on my blog because I really enjoyed the assignment.

*Take note: I am transferring this from a PP so it looks much less organized.

Growing up my parents always had pictures of Christ in our home. At a young age, I learned to turn to Christ through prayer and scripture study.

For Christmas, my parents bought Stephen and I this statue of Christ to help remind us that he is always here and that he always cares. I am so grateful for loving parents, not only here on earth, but up above.

As a young child, my mom found it very important for our family to have dinner together every night. I found that as we gathered each night to eat dinner, it became a place of laughter and comfort after a long day. As time past and all the kids were growing up my parents bought a new table. I made my Mom promise me that when I got married I could have the table we used growing up. I got married 5 months ago and I now have the table in my apartment. This table is a reminder to me of all those wonderful memories I had with my family as we gathered around the kitchen table. Now that I am married, my husband and I are continuing this tradition and will continue it when we have children of our own.

I’ll never forget asking my Dad if I could marry him! (Don’t worry I was only 4) He was someone that made me laugh, smile, and most importantly, helped me to feel protected. He showed me how to live the Gospel by example and set the bar high for what I would eventually want in a husband.
I see so much of my Father in my husband, Stephen. More than anything else, he shows me that he loves me through his kindness and his service for me. He and my Father are just alike. I am thankful for the wonderful Father I had growing up and the wonderful husband that I have now.
