Red,White, and Blue

I am almost all caught up with my blog posts. Sorry for the overload.

We had a fun 4th of July. I love the 4th of July...it is prob my favorite holiday. We went to a fun event with the people Stephen is currently working with. They had a big BBQ, golfing, swimming, bouncy houses, cotton candy, clowns, balloon animals, snow cones, and water guns. The girls were having a blast and it was great to get to know new people. 

 While Stephen was golfing with the work guys Friday morning we had fun doing our nails and getting ready for a fun day.

I saw this on pinterest and had to give it a try. I am happy it turned out. I love that her hair is long enough for me to do fun things like this.

Sir Charles Court

Like I have said before we came with only what we could fit in our van. I searched and searched for a furnished apt but unless we wanted to spend $2500 or more a month we weren't going to get one. Something we have learned this summer is you really don't need much as long as you are together as a family. We are sleeping on the floor and living with very little yet it has been the most memorable summer and we have had a blast. 

I finally bought a little card table at Target so we were no longer eating on the floor.

Enjoy a couple snaps of our new apt for the next couple months in Oregon.

The best part about this apt is is that the washer and dryer are inside the apt instead of on the deck like our apt in Texas. haha

This picture captures a couple things... 1. Yes, that is our bed in the background. (the joys of traveling) 2. Yes, I am eating on the floor (we don't have a table yet) and 3. You may wonder why I'm eating in a bedroom... great question. That is so I can eat ALL my breakfast without sharing it. I better hurry and eat before a little one finds me! #momlife

Well that didn't last long... look who found me and look who wants to eat my food.

OREGON BOUND

We have made it to Oregon and the drive was only 12 hours instead of 24 this time. We drove separate cars bc Stephen would need to drive to work instead of taking the bus like he did in TX.

Oregon is beautiful. Trees are everywhere and I never realized how much i missed the trees from Georgia until seeing them again.  Savannah asks daily if we are going to a new house again. After the new apartments and all the hotels we stayed in the poor kid thinks moving from place to place often is a normal thing. Luckily she loves to explore and thinks it is the coolest thing ever. Tammy Lee doesn't mind either. As long as her pack and play with her binky and blanket comes along she is a happy camper.

I asked Stephen to grab the girls some ice cream since they had done so well driving all day. In my mind I was thinking little kiddie cones. He came back with adult size frosties. haha The girls acted as if they had just won the lottery.

UTAH...FAMILY...FUN

We took a little stop in Utah for a couple days. We stayed at my parents house so we wouldn't get the girls all settled in our house again. We did stop by our house to mow the lawn and get a couple things done and I didn't realize how much I missed it. I mostly missed our bed and furniture. All the things we have lived without for a couple months.

On day 1 we visited the cousins and family on Stephen's side. I love that the girls have so many cousins on Stephen's side that are close in age. They love playing together and are so cute!

Day 2: we went to the splash pad with my family and just enjoyed being together.

Tammy Lee and Nana have a special relationship. Tammy Lee LOVES I mean LOVES Nana. She wants her 24/7 and loves when she is near. She makes sure Nana is always close and runs to her anytime she is sad. It is the sweetest thing.

Savannah on the other hand LOVES Papa and she doesn't like to share Papa with anyone else. On our drive to see my parents Savannah said,"Papa is mine Tammy Lee and Nana is yours ok?" Tammy Lee said "Otay!"

We had such a wonderful stay and were so glad we could see them before heading to Oregon.

and we are off...

We got our road trip snacks ready, packed the car, cleaned the apt and were off. It was sad to say bye but we were so excited to take a little pit stop in Utah to see our family that we had missed SOOO much! The girls could hardly wait to make it to Nana and Papa's house and talked about it often.

After two days of driving and one more day to go we took a break and let the girls play at the park early monday morning. The girls were serious troopers. I am amazed at how smooth the drives went with minimal meltdowns.

Happy Father's Day

Stephen is an amazing Dad. He adores Savannah and Tammy Lee and they adore him just as much. We had fun celebrating Father's Day and making him feel extra special. Savannah helped me do a little scavenger hunt and we hid all the "treasures" the night before. It was a great day!

They are lucky girls!

Our last week in Texas!

 Our last week in Texas was fun and busy! Stephen left for Atlanta for four days to attend BCG. BCG stands for Boston Consulting Group. He was given an amazing opportunity that only a select few law students get and he had a great time. He left on Tuesday and would be back Friday night. We were planning on leaving early Saturday morning so that meant I was in charge of all the packing and cleaning. It was quite the task but I got it all done and we were able to leave early Saturday morning. 

We had a lot of fun our last week spending time with friends and playing outside. I really love Texas! The weather wasn't my favorite but the people were amazing and I loved the area we lived in.

One of the saddest parts about leaving Texas is saying bye to my life long friend Veronica and her cute family. Tammy Lee must have known we were leaving soon because the last day we saw them she was giving V lots of snuggles. ;)

 Savannah still talks about Avery and asks if we can play with her often.

 Savannah met Gentry in our ward and we did a couple play dates together. Gentry's mom was 38 weeks pregnant with their second and was a trooper in the Texas heat.

 Another part about Texas that I loved was that we lived 10 min away from a Trader Joes. I now know why people LOVE that store. They also have cute little kid carts and the girls looked so cute pushing them around. They have a little stuffed turtle they hide in the store to occupy the little ones. Once they find it they can pick something from the treasure box.

 The picture above is how I was feeling when Stephen left. Grateful he doesn't go on to many business trips.

There was no possible way we could fit our double stroller in the van so we had to do with the umbrella stroller. It was tricky at times and these two cracked me up when they tried to solve the problem.

 Can't forget all the fun we had with STACEY. She is seriously the best. Came and helped me pack on Friday and always came to play with us. We miss her already.
