Summer Fun!

We are having such a fun summer! The weather has been great... aside from the days over 100 degrees. Sheesh... way too hot for my pregnant self!

Stephen loves using the grill. I was always the one cooking dinner every night but now that he has a grill he likes to make fun recipes. Like the delicious steak kabobs below. YUM... we gobbled those up...with the help of my parents!

Savannah is growing up fast. Her personality is deff shining through and it is so fun to watch.  She has such a fun, happy personality. Loves to explore, loves to interact with kids, and loves to play outside. She is very determined... just like her Dad. She is starting to expand her vocabulary and it is so fun to watch her learn. So far she can say: Mama, Dada, hot, and hi! She is feisty and will let you know when she is not happy. She is also very sensitive and needs to cuddle when her feelings are hurt or she gets hurt physically. Her molars have all broken through and she still has that cute gap between her front teeth. She loves bath time and will run straight there when you say it is time for bath. She also loves to brush her teeth and wants you to put the toothpaste on over and over again because she loves the taste. She is a great sleeper and we are cherishing our good night sleep since baby # 2 will be here in no time. We love this little girl!

We were playing outside the other night and she was apparently all pooped out. She came and laid on me and fell right to sleep. I love moments like this!

This girl is a fish. She gets so excited when we go to the pool. She doesn't like you to touch her in the water... she wants to do everything herself. She seriously has no fear! She laughs and laughs when the water splashes her and loves to watch all the kids playing. The second you take her out of the water a HUGE fit will follow!

We are loving SUMMER time!

Kitchen Re-Do

Stephen and I tackled some big projects in our home this summer. We have been wanting to do them for a while and we felt like now was the perfect time. It was a lot of work because we did everything ourselves with the help of my DAD who taught us everything. We deff wouldn't have known what we were doing without him. Here is our kitchen renovation before and after!

This is our kitchen before. We had Oak cabinets, white laminate countertops, green walls, and a cheap backsplash.

Another before pic

During: We painted the walls the same tan color that the rest of our home was and started painting the oak cabinets. I bought a kit at Lowe's which had the cabinet cleaner, primer, top coat, base coat, stain, and the sealer...it was also a great price. The best part is it required no sanding!

During: We finished painting the top cabintes and Stephen added knobs.

We painted the island black and added beaded board.

We re-did the countertops in the cheapest way possible. We had a company come in that lays a thin sheet over your original countertops instead of replacing them.

The cabinets after we added stain.

Added a back splash. (As you can see we still need to put the outlets on)

AFTER!
Here is the finished product. We are so happy with the results and are so glad we did it all on our own!

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to all the Dad's and soon to be Dad's out there. We had so much fun celebrating Father's Day yesterday and I am so grateful for days like that to remember how blessed I am not only to have grown up with a wonderful father but to have a husband who is a wonderful father to Savannah.

First of all, I am so grateful for my dad. I will never forget asking my dad if I could marry him. (Don't worry I was only 4) He was someone that made me laugh, smile, and most of all helped me to feel protected. He showed me how to live the gospel by example and he deff set the bar high for what I would eventually want in a husband.

Secondly, I am so grateful for the sweet, loving, playful Dad Stephen is to Savannah. She adores him and loves when he comes home from work. I love to see them interact with one another and hear Savannah's laugh as Stephen chases her all around the house.

Stephen was smitten with this little girl from Day 1...there is something about Daddy/daughter love that is so sweet and genuine.

On Sunday morning we woke up and Savannah gladly handed Stephen his Father's Day presents that we picked out. She was so cute and would give him lots of hugs and kisses...it is like she knew it was his special day! ;)

We ate Stephen's favorite breakfast, went to church, had a big dinner with my family, and ended with cuddling by the couch.

Thanks for being such a great husband and father to Savannah Stephen. She is one lucky girl!!

Family, Fun, & Sun

We had such a fun weekend in St george for a family reunion on Stephen's side. We stayed at a hotel in St George and swam, played at the park, learned how to square dance, had a talent show, and ate way too much yummy food and treats! Savannah loved playing with all the little kids and did a great job with an adjusted schedule!
I was a little worried about how she would sleep not being in her crib. We brought the pack and play and she slept so great at night and took her naps like normal. She is so sweet but boy can she be feisty and stubborn. She will deff let you know when she is not happy about something. She will stomp her feet and give you the stink eye. But when she is happy she is all smiles and laughs. It is fun to see her little personality grow and develop!

On the way to St George she slept almost the entire time. Once she was awake she was perfectly content eating her snacks in the back and watching Baby Einstein's on Stephen's phone.
Love him!
We were getting ready to go eat dinner and do some square dancing!
Can't wait until our 2nd little girl joins our family!
Dancing the night away...
Savannah was loving the music... she was jumping, spinning, and dancing!
She came and cuddled with us in bed around 7:30 and fell right back to sleep. That sleep position doesn't look to comfy though.
Sweet baby Keaton. Savannah loved to give him hugs and stick his binky in his mouth when he cried.
Wyatt and Savannah are so funny together. Sometimes they love each other and give hugs and kisses and other times it is a completely different story. They hit and push and steal toys from each other...
o dear!
My fun sister-in-law! I am lucky to have such great in-laws!
Bath time after a fun and busy day. Can you tell she is tired? Look at those tired eyes.
Here is another one of my great sister in laws. We were twins.
This is what we call the stink eye. It is her new expression she gives... quite often actually.
Quick story about this face: When we were driving home from St George we stopped at a gas station to change Savannah's diaper. I was waiting in line and this sweet older lady started talking to Savannah and was telling her how beautiful her eyes were. I looked down at Savannah and she was giving that sweet lady this scowl... I was like uhhhh sorry about that. It was awkward but I can't help laughing about it.

We had such a great trip and it was a lot of fun to get to know Stephen's extended family better. Although it was so much fun it is always nice to be back home and in your own bed. Our next trip will be in August for Chase and Jessie's or CHESSIE'S wedding. We can't wait! I will post a pic of their announcement soon... coolest/cutest announcement I have ever seen!

Goodbye for now!
