The Shopping Itch

Have you ever had the shopping itch? Sadly, I have it quite often... I love love love to shop! But shopping costs money and I like to save money... especially since Stephen is getting ready to start Law School, and we all know that isn't so cheap! ;)

So I cleaned out my closet... and got rid of all the clothes that just sat there on the hanger week after week. Then I took a little drive to Trendy Exchange. It is a clothing store that buys used clothes and re-sales them. I gave it a try and guess what... it was a success! They bought almost everything I brought and they gave me $47.27 in cash for my clothes. I decided to do a little shopping at Trendy Exchange to see what I could find with the money I was given.

The total after buying the clothes below was $51.02. I used the cash they gave me for my clothes which was $47.27 so all I had to pay out of my pocket was a little over $4.00. How great is that... 7 new outfits only cost me $4.00!

Here is a cute dress I found that can be a fun summer dress or for church. It costed $7.00. (The cardigan was not something I bought at Trendy Exchange... I just added it when I got home)
A cute red and white striped tank originally from Target. The best part is it was only $3.00.
This shirt below is originally from Forever 21... it is actually a maternity top that I thought would work great when I was pregnant again. It was $7.00.
This tank and top came together and was also $7.00.
The flowered shirt was only $2.00 and the black cardigan was $5.00.
I found a long black tank that I have needed for so long. It was $7.00.
The black undershirt was already mine and the blue top was $7.00.
Here they all are... and to think it only costed me about $4.00!
I also liked Trendy Exchange on FB which took an additional $2.00 off my total purchase!

Happy Shopping!

Over & over again...

Something that I love about babies is things never get old to them. You can do something so little that cracks them up and no matter how many times you do it they are still laughing.

For example: Yesterday Savannah and I were playing with her pillow pet before she went to bed. I kept putting it on her head and then it would fall off and she would die laughing. It was so cute how funny she thought it was. This went on for like 10 minutes... it just never got old to her.
I love this fun age where she is learning so much, exploring this world, and gaining such a fun/spunky personality!

Here are the pictures... Enjoy! ;)

Everything has a place...

I needed to figure out a solution for Savannah's toys. I was tired of throwing them in the green bucket. They were over flowing and I always felt like it was a mess... so I needed to figure something else out.

I wanted to get a cubicle for all her toys so I could organize them in the different shelfs. I did a little research online and found some at Target, Walmart, Ikea, and Lowes. Lowes had the cheapest price by far. It was $39.99 and everywhere else was $60..00-$70.00...which is way more than I was willing to spend.

Here is a picture of her toys before... in the green bucket that was overflowing.
Take a sigh of relief... much better right? I am seriously in heaven with this little cubicle... best purchase I have made in a while.
This cubby has all her little toys and blocks.
This one has all her stuffed animals.
This was has her baby doll, talking bear, and computer.
Now everything has a place...Yay! The little cubbies are perfect because Savannah knows how to pull on the little strap to get the toys she wants out but when she isn't playing I can hide them all away.

We have the best of both worlds! ;)

Crossfit

I started working out at Crossfit in October and have loved it ever since. Excercise has always been really important to me but I always dreaded going to the gym, running, and taking time out of my day. Crossfit has been a completely different experience for me. I love going to the gym, I love seeing results, I love pushing myself, I love seeing progress, I love the trainers there, and I love feeling successful.
The workouts are intense but they rarely last over 30 minutes. They are quick workouts and you burn more calories in those 30 minutes than in a 60 minute run. The trainers are so helpful and encouraging! We do a variety of workouts such as running, push ups, sit ups, kettle bells, box jumps, weight lifting, medicine balls, squats, cleans, thrusters, etc. Not to mention Crossfit is literally right down the street from my house. I could walk there if I wanted to. I love it and am so glad I joined!

Yikes... I look terrible in this picture below but I was super proud this day because I went up 10 pounds in weight. I thought I was going to die during the workout and was so sore the next day... but I was so excited to see that I am getting stronger and can lift more weight.
Love love love Crossfit!

Mischievous

I was unloading the dishwasher and I realized Savannah was being very quite. I went to see what she was up to and this is what I found...

Look at that face... she is so guilty!
Love her!

Happy Monday!

Savannah Jane turns 1!

Today is Savannah's official birthday. We celebrated a day early since her actual birthday is on a Sunday. I can not believe a year has already flown by... she is getting so big so fast.
Being a Mom has truly changed me. I babysat and nannied for many families growing up, I took multiple child development classes, and I also worked in a preschool... but nothing prepares you for motherhood, nothing prepares you for the real thing. Nothing prepares your for the unconditional love you feel for your child and for the new responsibility you have in your life.
When I became Savannah's mom, my role in the world completely changed-- I wasn't just the same ole me going to school and working on a new improved version of myself. I was a mother, really and truly forever! I am so grateful to be a Mother... especially Savannah's mother!

Anyways... lets get to the good stuff... Savannah' party!!

She sure loves those balloons!
We had a hot chocolate bar.

Getting ready the morning of her party. She had no idea what was going on but was all smiles!
We also had subs, chips, fruit, and cupcakes!

She got so many fun presents!

She loved the whole eat the cake part. She was more then willing to share as well. ;)

Later on after everyone had left we were cleaning up and Savannah had gone over to her highchair. Some cake crumbs and icing had fallen on the seat and she was trying to eat every last bit. Haha - I think I have a girl who loves sugar like her mamma!

Daddy and I love you Savannah! Happy 1st Birthday!

Ears...

Last week was not a very fun week for me. I had a terrible ear infection that just continued to get worse and worse.
I have had ear problems my entire life because I have really small ear canals... which results in ear infections quite often. This particular one just ended up being much worse then I have ever had before.

Tuesday morning I went to my doctor because my ear was killing me and he told me that my ear drum had been traumatized. He gave me numbing drops and Percocet/Oxycodone to kill the pain... he didn't want to give me an antibiotic because he wanted my body to heal my ear on its own. I knew I didn't want to take Percocet because I hate the way that stuff makes me feel... I get dizzy, nauseous, and tired.

Wednesday I was in so much pain I could hardly talk. I didn't sleep at all the night before and was taking ibuprofen and tylenol back to back because I didn't want to take Percocet. I was so miserable so I called my doctor and he recommended I find an ear specialist. I researched and found an ear, nose, throat doctor in Provo and got the soonest appt available at 2:00 that afternoon. This doctor was amazing and so helpful. At this point I couldn't hear out of my left ear and that was because my ear was swollen shut... how crazy is that. He had to use a special tool to even see inside my ear since it was completely swollen. I ended up having two infections in that one ear and he put a splint in my ear so that the drops would reach the infection. The infection had gotten so bad he prescribed me a lot of medicine to help with the pain since he knew the antibiotics would take 24 -48 hours to kick in.

It took until Saturday until I was feeling somewhat better. I still couldn't hear out of my left ear but by this Tuesday it was no longer swollen and I can hear again! YAY
I am so glad it is over. Ear pain is the worst!

Below is the medicines I had to take. The first tiny bottle on the left cost $124.00 and that is after insurance. HOLY COW! The second bottle is numbing drops, the third bottle helps with the throbbing, fourth is my antibiotic by mouth, and the last one is Percocet.
Love the cotton ball sticking out of my ear... cute huh! ;)
If anyone has ear, nose, throat problems I recommend you go to Kipp Robbins in Provo by the Pizza Factory... he was fantastic!

V-Day!

Celebrating Valentines Day is a little more difficult when you have a child. Finding a babysitter isn't so easy since your parents are celebrating and it is a school night for the Young Women. I just thought we would enjoy a night in, a yummy dinner, and time together at home but Stephen had planned a night out. My parents came and watched Savannah... are we spoiled or what? My parents are so sweet to do that for us on Valentines Day.

It was so weird going to dinner without Savannah since we are so used to it. At the restaraunt we were thinking this is so crazy not having to keep her company in her high chair and feed her all this food to distract her from wanting to get out. It was nice! ;)
Stephen took me to Terra Mia... One of our all time favorite places to eat. Stephen says their pizza is as close to pizza in France that he has tasted. It is so delicious. We enjoyed our little table with a couple roses.
We got 'Thats Amore' pizza... it is delicious. And look how cute, they even shaped it like a heart for Valentines Day!
Then we went to the cinema were Stephen had already bought tickets for "The Vow." Seriously... he is so sweet. I have been wanting to see that movie ever since I saw the trailer... so he surprised me with tickets. The movie ended up being really cute... plus it is based off a true story... which makes it even better.

I hope everyone enjoyed their Valentines Day!

The 14 days of Valentines Day!

I decided to do a little something fun this year for Valentines day for Stephen. It is called the 14 days of Valentines day. It started on the 1st of February and each day he would receive a little gift. Most of the stuff was candy and treats that I got from the dollar store and there were a few things that I threw in there that were a little more expensive... like his actual gift for Valentines day. I got this idea from pinterest... don't you love pinterest? I am kinda obsessed... you probably all realize that if you read my blog.
Anyways here are the fun/small gifts:
(BTW Stephen has loved this)

Day 1: Pop Rocks
-We also gave Savannah some to see what she would do... it was soooo cute.
Day 2: Book of love coupons.
This included a date night to the movies, dinner for 2, watch a sports game together, and a 1/2 hour massage.
Day 3: Bubble Gum
Day 4: Love potion #9.
Stephen loves... I mean loves gatorade. SO i bought a fruit punch flavor, slapped the label in the middle... ta da!
Day 5: Chocolate.
Is it bad that before day 5 got here I had this terrible craving for chocolate. I snuck the Milky Way and had to go buy another one before day 5 came around. Oops! haha
Day 6: Raquetballs.
My dad and Stephen play racquetball together twice a week so I thought these would go perfect for day 6!
Day 7: Some dollar store chocolates.
Day 8: Cupcake
I made some cupcakes and put one inside this little bag for him!
Day 9: Hot tamales.
Stephen doesn't even like hot tamales... but I had to get hot tamales because the tag said so.... and I love them soooo they didn't go to waste ;)
Day 10: Gun... ya I know... cheap right.
At least Savannah loves to play with the colorful balls.
Day 11: I had the hardest time finding crush drinks so I had to settle with Izze. We had never tried them before... they were a little weird... we don't recommend them! It tasted like sparkling water with a little flavor. ehhh
Day 12: 10 things I love about you.
He loved this one... it was fun to watch him read them!
Day 13: His favorite candy.
Day 14: VANS
This was were I splurged. He has been wanting Vans for quite sometime. So his last Valentine gift was a pair of grey vans. He deserves them! I love you Stephen!

I wonder what he has planned for tonight. He told me not to plan anything after 6 and to be ready to go by 6. Maybe dinner and a movie? I have been wanting to see "The Vow." We shall see...

Anyways Happy LOVE day to everyone. I hope you all enjoy it!
