Tantrums and all...

Savannah is such a good girl. She is very independent, very social, funny, happy, and so sweet. But she does have her moments! I captured this tantrum on camera and thought I would share her feisty side. haha ;)

It all began when I took a picture of her and she wanted the camera. We all know it is not a good idea to give an 18 month old a nice camera... there are too many buttons and too many things that can go wrong if they play with it. So I wouldn't let her have it.
She was very upset with me and ran to the couch and turned around to give me this angry face.
Then she plopped herself on the ground...
Looked up in disgust about how mean I was...

continued to cry...
then gave me this sad face...
and clenched those fists which means she is real mad..

Then I figured I should probably stop taking pictures because it seemed to be making things worse. So I turned off the camera... we gave hugs and kisses... and I told her why she couldn't have the camera. The nice things is she gets over her tantrums really quick and just needs to feel loved. She is a sweet girl!

Love my Savannah... tantrums and all!

Love Flashes

Tonight I was having so many "love flashes" of Savannah so I thought I would sit down and write some of my thoughts. A "love flash" is a term my family used growing up. It is when you are reminiscing of a time that made you feel full of love for someone. I have "love flashes" quite often for Savannah. I love my days with her!

I love waking up in the morning to the sound of Savannah saying, "MaaaaaaMaaaa." Once I walk in a big smile comes across her face as she grabs both her blankies and reaches out her arms for me.

I love seeing her learn and understand. She understands so many things I tell her to do and is such a great helper. I can tell she will be a great big sister to Tammy Lee.

I love when she hears music and immediately starts dancing to the beat and wants everyone around to join in with her.

I love going on walks with her and stopping every 5 seconds because she gets distracted by something…whether it’s a leaf, a weed, a rock, or chewed gum. ;)

I love how independent and determined she is… it reminds me of her Dad!

I love when she bonks or falls and runs to me to kiss it better even when it really didn’t hurt that bad. ;) But apparently a kiss works magic and she is right back to normal.

I love reading books and hearing her say all the animal sounds.

I love how social she is. She loves playing with other kids and gets so excited when people come over.

I even love her feisty stubborn side. She won’t give up something she has without putting up a fight that’s for sure.

I love that everyday I spend with her I can always count on a good laugh from something she does.

She is such a fun girl and makes my days brighter and my smiles bigger!

I love you Savannah!

House Projects

I have had fun re-doing a lot of rooms and bathrooms this summer. We have had some renovation projects and it is nice that we are on the tale end of all them. Renovations can be fun but it is nice to see the finished project.

I have been working on getting Tammy Lee's room ready which has been so much fun. We changed the craft room into her room. Once she is sleeping through the night I will have her and Savannah share a room. I am leaving the craft table in Tammy Lee's room so that Stephen can also have a study desk to use while he is in law school. It also enables me to leave my cricut and sewing machine up since I use them quite often.
Her room is not done but here is a little sneak peak. I can't fully finish until I move Savannah into a toddler bed which will prob happen a little after she is 2. So ya... there is no crib in T-Lee's room yet but in one of the pictures you can get a little peak of her bedding that is pink and green.

I wish I would have taken a before pic of the room. It had a red accent wall and the others walls were a tan color. First... we painted the walls a very light yellow. Have I ever told you how tired Stephen and I  are of painting?

For her name I bought cardboard letters and scrap book paper. I cut the paper and modge podged them onto the cardboard letters in different directions. Then I used my cricut machine to finish the rest of her name. I also added some flowers I found on sale at Hobby Lobby.

Below is a little peak at her bedding. I was thrilled when I found the bedding I have wanted on E-BAY for SOOOO cheap. Seriously it was a steal of a deal. I was going to use the same bedding I used for Savannah but I thought it would be fun for them to look back at pics and see what their rooms were like. Plus... I was dying to do something new.

I made those tissue pom poms for the corner of her room. It was a tutorial I found on pinterest and they were so cheap to make... which makes me like them even more.

I painted the closet which was prob my least favorite part. When we moved into the house the entire closet was black. They even painted the ceiling and baseboards black. It was terrible. I have been avoiding painting it and finally tackled the project. It took forever because I had to prime it before I started painting it. I cleared out the closet because I had all my craft stuff in it. I unloaded all the newborn clothes, blankets, binkies, socks etc. It was fun to see all the clothes Savannah use to wear when she was itty bitty. I love getting everything organized and ready to go... even though I still have 2 2 1/2 months left. ;)

Next is our master bedroom. Once again... I wish I could find a before picture but o well. We upgraded to a king size mattress along with new furniture. The king size bed makes our room a little smaller but it is so worth it. We love the mattress it is SO comfy.

Once I found out I was having another girl... I decided to do a girly bathroom for them. It is amazing how much different items and colors in a bathroom can really brighten it up.

I fell in love with this cute little toothbrush holder.

I also am kinda obsessed with owls right now. ;)

I realized I still haven't taken pic of the deck.... that is next on my to do list. ;)

BYU Law Student

After much anticipation and many weeks of waiting Stephen was accepted to be a law student at BYU. We are so excited, nervous, anxious, and ready to get school started and finished with! He has worked so hard and I am so proud to have such a smart, dedicated husband. It has been his dream to be a lawyer one day and I have no doubt he will be a great one.
We feel like it was such a blessing that Stephen was accepted to BYU law school because it is very hard to get into and is considered one of the top schools.
We are ready to start this new chapter in our lives. Law school is very busy and very demanding so I am trying to prepare myself to see Stephen around much less. It will be hard especially with a new baby on the way but it will all work out. I am excited for Stephen to get school started and done with so he can start the career he has always wanted.

Congrats babe! I LOVE YOU!

Lately...

I haven't blogged in a while. I tend to do really good for a couple weeks and then I slack off and have a lot to catch up on. We have been having a great summer though! Spending a whole lot of it in the sun thats for sure! I will tell you one thing though... being pregnant in the summer is killer! I am SO hot all the time! ehhh

I love when I catch Savannah and Stephen taking a little snooze together. This is what happens when you have a sick little girl and a tired husband who gets up at 5 in the morning for work.
haha her little ponytail. The front hair doesn't really connect to the back... but I love those natural curls she has!
I had fun doing a little craft for the family room. I bought the wood blocks at Crafty wood cutouts in Orem for a great deal. I spray painted them brown and modge podged paper and embellishments on.

Here I am at 26 weeks feeling BIG. Can't wait to meet our little girl and I have had so much fun getting her room ready! The theme is pink, green, and yellow this time!
And here is our spunky Savannah. She is at the "do it herself" phase. She wants to feed herself which tends to make quite the mess. I am not even sure if much of that made it in her mouth. haha Crazy girl!

Tammy Lee

We are naming our 2nd little girl after my mom, Tammy and Stephen's mom, LeeAnn. Her name will be Tammy Lee Jett. I can't believe I am already 24 weeks... this pregnancy is flying by and we can't wait to meet her. She is very active in my belly and I feel her kicking constantly. I love feeling those kicks. When I ask Savannah where the baby is she will point to my belly and give it kisses. It is so sweet. She will be a great big sister! I am over half way done... we love our Tammy Lee!

Savannah wanted to hold the picture of T-Lee too!

Babies...

"A baby will make love stronger, days shorter, nights longer, bankroll smaller, home happier, clothes shabbier, the past forgotten and the future worth living for." -Anonymous
